Though the gods have now laid sundered and dead for over 1,000 years, they still play a role in the history of Eldraspell. There are some who still cling to the Old Ways, continuing the legacy of the divine, living in hope that one day the Gods will return to bathe the land in a second light, fighting back the Mist once more.

The Father
Domains: Autumn, animals, harvest, plenty, feasting, death & rebirth, the sun
Lord of the Gods, Cyneric was a mighty figure who ruled over both Heaven and Earth with an iron grip. He was the final God to fall, legends say he shed a single tear as his heart was cut from his chest.
The Mother
Domains: Summer, warmth, fertility, hearth & home
Known as The Gentle Mother, Sunngifu was said to be a kind and welcoming God. Wife to Cyneric, she bore for him his children. It is said that she gave no fight when Ælfric stormed the gates of Heaven, she simply smiled and opened her arms to him.
The Maiden
Domains: Spring, love, youth, innocence, purity
The youngest of the Gods, legend has it that Ælfflæd would often take on mortal form and silently make her way to the mortal lands, where she would frolick and feast with them. Until her father inevitably dragged her back to their domain.
The Crone
Domains: Winter, wisdom, magic, mystery, knowledge, death, sleep, deep things, the moon
Eldest of the Gods, Hildræd was a powerful witch, second only in might to Cyneric himself. She knew many things, holding in her the secrets of both worlds. Due to her immense magical prowess, legend says that she was the most difficult foe for the Sorcerer King to fell.
The Harbinger
Domains: Ferrier of Souls, Lord of the Underworld
Eldest child of Cyneric and Sunngifu, Hræfn took pity on the first of the mortals to die, carving a realm of death so that their souls may continue on into eternity. A solemn figure, legend tells that Hræfn had a particular soft-spot for birds; especially ravens and crows, using them as messengers and pets.
The Sword
Domains: War, power, vengeance, justice
The sword arm of the Gods, Wulfsige acted as a divine enforcer, ensuring the will of his father was adhered to. He was the first to meet Ælfric in combat, their duel was so great that it shook both Heaven and Earth, arcs of lightning racing across the sky with each blow.
The Spark
Domains: Chaos, tricks, riddles
It is unknown exactly how Wilde fits into the familial structure. Sometimes they appear as a mischievous young child, other times as a hardened and grizzled adult. However they do or do not fit in, Wilde was seen as the 'spark' of the family, bringing chaos to Divine order. There are some who believe that Wilde survived the siege of Ælfric and is out there somewhere, in another form, waiting.
